I ran 3DMark 06 with no overclocking and acheived "11114".

![]() I re-ran the test after overclocking the E6700 to 3.7GHz and the 8800GT to 710(Core)/1850(Shader)/1010(Memory) this time acheiving a score of "11254". (412MHz x9 =3700MHz) ![]() I downclocked the CPU to 3.6GHz with a 10x multiplier instead of a 9x multiplier and got a result of "13185". (360MHz x10 =3600MHz) ![]() Why is this happening? Could be errors in other parts of the system. It could be your RAM not keeping up with the over 400MHz bus speed in the first overclock. I assume you're using DDR2 800 of course.
Your northbridge might not be able to handle it either or is overheating.. |

When I touch the Northbridge (Physically) it seems just under body temp, about 30 degrees.
Should I try more overvolting a little more then? |

Yeah, the only thing I could think of is that running asynchronously above the CPU's FSB speed was causing some sort of weird miss or something. Pretty bizarre, but of course you know synthetic benchmarks.
