I've been having lots of random blue screens recently all with 0x00000124 codes (see attached screenshot) on Vista64 Home Premium.
My PC isn't overclocked. Just default settings in the bios. I'm at the stage where I've checked all connections, updated to latest drivers and done a fresh install of vista 64. I'm still getting a BSOD so I guess it's gotta be hardware. I've run memtest and that doesn't show any problems with the ram. I guess I need to start replacing hardware. Maybe with a MB and CPU combo. Is that a good plan? I may go to AMD instead of intel for cost. Any thoughts on identifying the exact problem? If I do go with an AMD combo, any thought on something that would give similar performance to my current spec. Here's my current spec...

Try updating your sound driver, from the Asus website

Thanks for the reply Phil.
I'm already running all the latest drivers and the latest bios from Asus. |

Just as a trial, try uninstalling the sound driver and disabling the on board sound, in bios and see if that helps.
I've seen a number of folks with this issue and a lot were tracked down to incompatibilty with the Vista x64sound driver. |
