Actually no,the cd is bootble,it boots into dos and i have a few options there,i can make a floppy disk with drivers for my hdd in dos using the motherboard cd but those drivers are for ata hdd`s only and those are the ones i used to install windows on my sata hdd because neither the sata drivers on the abit site nor those on the intel site nor those on the motherboard cd worked.

That's bizarre, I can't understand why it would make a ATA driver disk as drivers for ATA are not needed to install windows and are done automatically later on.

How random, anyway, as far as advice goes we have covered all the normal bases, SATA disks are made by booting from the mobo CD so only the manufacturer is going to be able to shed any more light on this I think.

I would be interested to know their response. :)

The guy from abit`s tech support has no idea either,i`m wondering if anyone from abit has any idea of what they`ve created or if they`re just guessing as they go..:|

What happens when you use the SATA drivers on this page?

I don't understand.

Looking at that website page:

The third driver down on the list is a IDE driver.

The second one is an SATA driver.

Clearly there are two separate drivers from the manufacturer.

Are you saying that both when used only install the same IDE driver?

That's got to be an abit cock-up then.

Have you explained to them that they have two controller drivers listed for this board as separate types but they are actually both the same?

How old is the board?

Where did you buy it?

Any decent seller will probably take it back if you explain to them.
