well I don't know what mine was doing in my laptop when the idiots at HP "support" tried to "help" me, but I definitely disabled SATA and it was a SATA drive that worked, but very slow

Is it possible not to have SATA enabled from my bios,because i see in my windows device settings that i have 4 port Serial ATA Storage Controller disabled.

How will disabling SATA fix this?

According to you the drive is running in ATA mode so turning off SATA in the BIOS won't change anything.

I did not say i want to disable SATA i`m saying that it might be disabled from bios.

I was aiming that at everyone really, the comment above you was suggesting turning it off.

Can you enter your BIOS?

Have a look at all the settings and see if there are any SATA ones.

There aren`t any SATA ones, there is a setting though "IDE Bus Master" if i disable that it doesn`t recognize my SATA hdd at all,but besides that there is absolutely nothing.
