firslty i put this in general hard ware as it refers to motherboards, ram and graohics cards
right at first i thaught i would just use one gfx with ddr3 ram and the new asus motherboard that looks likt eh mutz nutz but then my ocd ways got the better of me and i wondered if i should get a ddr2 sli motherboard. but either option is cutting of upgradability and my ocd side of me doesnt like this (i hate him , he is called Raul).
so i am face with a decision
ddr2 or ddr3 ??
sli or single ?
or is there any ideas for when an sli ddr3 motherboard will be released ?? if its in the next 4 months i could probably wait (it would kill my inner child though).
arghh i hate these decisions

ok ... after chatting with a few people i have decided ddr2 as it would enable me to get more for the same pice as ddr3
so i started to look around for some decent nvidea ddr2 chipsets .... but a few that i looked at werent out ... yet again ... so
what motherboards are there that will support sli and fom a reputable company with good features ????
thanks

If you want SLI it has to be either the 650 or 680 chipset.

If you want oc'ing as well then it has to be the Striker.

i think Microstar has released a few boards supporting both DDR2 and DDR3 chips. If you had the choice off DDR3 i would pick that. It faster than DDR2 ram and makes memory access faster. i think i read somewhere that 512MB of the fastest DDR3 can put out the same results as 1GB of the slowest DDR2. i would also use a single card as opposed to Nvidia's multiple card doohickey, its cheaper and i cant see the benfits of having two video cards to a monitor.

I think.......think, that the EVGA has been released Cewy.

The striker 2 hasn't but you can pre-order.

Hard to answer those questions really. I've not had chance yet to build a pc using one of them.

From past experience though Asus' ROG boards (Republic of Gamers) are awesome oc'ers and very stable. There's a reason they command the price premium. But they are dedicated oc'ing boards, so if that's not your thing then you may want the EVGA.
