First off please don't tell me that Alienware is overpriced and all that they suck because I've heard it all before.

My question is will this setup work well for well gaming on top notch games like Crysis?

Specs:
Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q9400 2.66GHz 6MB Cache 1333MHz FSB
Graphics processor: Single 1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 280
Memory: 8GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz - 4 x 2048MB
Operating system: Genuine Windows Vista® Ultimate (64-bit Edition) with Service Pack 1
System drive: 1TB SATA 3Gb/s 7,200RPM 32MB Cache
Thanks.

I learned the hard way that you can play that game for a lot less with a smaller system. I have a Q9450, a 790i ultra and 2 9800GX2's to go along with my 8GB's or RAM (DDR3) and I have never come close to using it all. but if you are set on buying that rig then by all means buy it. You should be able to get through Crysis.........

crysis is over rated anyway.

i found wolf 3d more interesting.

it'll run crysis fine.

if all settings are at theyre lowest you can run crysis on a 7900GT

As mentioned here I would refrain from buying any alienware computers. You can build your own or buy one from a different source with higher specs for cheaper.

As he said, alienware is generally fairly overpriced. If you have the cash and for some reason don't mind spending the extra go ahead and get it.

good for gaming? - yes
good if you want end user support? - yes
good for your pocket? NO!
good value for money? NO NO NO!

as many have said, save your money, build your own, and can get a even higher spec machine, probably still for less!
