I'm getting a new PC and I was wondering if you could give me any suggestions (except less RAM lol :P).

I'll probably get a better processor

Here it is:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Overclocked @ 3.00GHz (probably more)
Motherboard: ABIT IN9 32X-MAX WiFi (having problems with PCI slots, so I can't change this).
RAM: 4GB DDR2 CORSAIR TWIN2x4096-6400C5DHX
Optical drive: 2x ASUS DRW-1814BLT-B (lightscribe,SATA)
HDD: 2x WESTERN DIGITAL WD5000AAKS (1TB total :))
Video card 1: EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS KO w/ ACS3 (640-P2-E827-AR) 640MB GDDR3 DX10
Video card 2: EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS KO w/ ACS3 (640-P2-E827-AR) 640MB GDDR3 DX10
Power Supply: ENERMAX EIN660AWT-650W
Coolers: THERMALRIGHT SI-128, 3x AKASA AK-174CG-4GNB (intake, exhaust, heatsink)
Case: AKASA Eclipse 62

And a fan controller, keyboard, mouse, external HDD, mousepad, neons, UV cables, card reader, and some other stuff.

Man, I seriously don't want to write that again xD.

So, what do you think?
Maybe another power supply, RAM, dunno.

Hi Vlad.

Cpu is fine, it tends to be a decent overclocker. But as you're going to oc i'd suggest the E6420 and save some money, especially when you consider the mobo you've spec'd was basically born to overclock. It's Abit's answer to Asus' Striker Extreme. Looking at the voltages available (a stupid 1.9v to the cpu, 3v to the ram and similarly silly voltages to the North and Southbridges). Yeah, go for the E6420 but if you're not so fussed about saving money then stick with the E6600.

The mobo, as stated above, is rather a good one. 680i chipset, dual x16 pci-e slots. But fitting two double width cards will lose you access to the pci-e 1x and 2 of the pci slots. So if you want to add a sound card or a physic's card then you're going to have problems, not least with airflow.

Very good optical drives, Nuff said.

I'd have preferred to have seen Hitachi Deskstar's quoted in the spec rather than the WD's. Same data density per platter i believe but the seek and read time tends to be faster on the Hitachi's. Some of this is of course down to keeping the drive de-fragged though in real world usage.

If you've a lot of SLI-optimised games then yeah, two cards. If not, then there's really no point but thats upto you Vlad. But if you're ocing the cpu why not just get two Vanilla GTS's and oc them yourself? Can't oc the stream shaders yet but i don't think EVGA have done that on the card you've quoted anyway.

Fans are ok, loud but do shift decent amounts of air. Get rid of that hsf though and get a scythe Ninja or an AC Freezer 7 pro. Especially as you're oc'ing. I dont' doubt it's cooling prowess simply 1) It's size in the case you've spec'd considering everything else. I think you'll see higher ambient temps inside the case. 2) It's damn loud!

Switch out the case considering all the components spec'd and the fact you're oc'ing. You're (I'd hazard) going to have issues with heat and noise, but specifically noise. But if you've the sound cranked up then you'll not hear it, again, upto you. But you do have a lot of components in there, sizeable ones as well, all four ram slots filled, double-width cards and that hsf. Airflow might be an issue. Just my opinion. Why not go for an Antec P180 (only slightly more expensive and an awesome case) or the 900 (cheaper and rather better with the old airflow).

Very nice to see an Enermax Psu quoted there. I'd be looking at 700w+ though, just to be sure. Because you've 4 sticks of ram, 2 cards, 2 hdds, 2 optical drives to power, and you'll be oc'ing. Yeah, sticking with Enermax I'd like to see an 720w infiniti in there.

Arctic Silver 5 for your T.I.M though.

I would go for the Asus instead of the Abit(kinda lost faith in them after the IC7 max3)
And depending on the week you get for the 6600(earlier the better) I would stick with that as the earlier weeks can easily hit 3.5Ghz or more
The 640mb Gpu is a good idea because Nvidia are discontinuing them, so if they break Evga will have to replace your card with something better lol
Although in saying that 2x640mb barely beats a single 8800gtx in 3dmark, so just get one 8800gtx and if you feel the need in the future just get another 8800gtx

Alex: Soundproofing ;)
SocialWarfare: Yeah, but I've already hit $4000 :(

EDIT:
Idea!

I'll link you to some video cards. It's in Romanian, but w/e, you'll see what I mean.

The card I'm getting is 15 million lei (...umm). Here it is.
This card is 18 million lei, the most I think I'm willing to spend.
Are these two REALLY better? One. Two.

EDIT 2:
Also: LOL!

2 640mb's are more expensive than one 8800gtx, and for the tiny bit of performance increase you get with the 2 it just isn't worth it IMO

I would just go for the 8800GTX, the KO is just a pre overclocked 8800GTX and the Black Pearl is for water cooling only
2 GTS' is going to cost you 30 million lei anyway which is about 12mil more lei for a minute performance increase over the GTX
