| I recently got an artic freezer pro 7 and am wondering if i should remove the pre past that is on the heatsink before adding the thermal compound i bought? also how much thermal compound should i use and what is the technique for applying it. thanks |

| Hmmm, I think its debateable. The stuff that comes with the Freezer is good stuf. But, I don't think you get optimum cooling with it. If you are going to replace it, then definitely clean the old stuff off. A cloth works fine. I suggest you just use what is on it though, and replace it in the future if you think it is necessary. I did a build yesterday and replaced it with Arctic Silver and it runs no slower than the one I did last week with the pre applied stuff. Just put the Freezer on and see what the temps are like.
