Default Big Problem Please Help!!!

Ok, I have a new laptop that has been fiddled with by a old friend who set a main password on the main setup of the comp and He can't rember the password is there anyway I can get round this password without losing files The password is asked for as soon as the comp starts up what can i do please help you guys are my last hope!!!

well, there is a drastic approach i can think of. what you do, is you have 2 hard drives you can boot off of in 1 computer. you boot with the one that doesn't have this problem, and from there you can explore the hard drive that you cant get on.
