Default Boot Problems

Hey guys, i have built a PC and everything was fine up until i load windows XP up 1st time boot fine maybe even second, then i go back later to load it up and i get a black screen and hangs. I then turn my computer of by the button and then it turns itself back on. So i then turn it of by the mains turn the computer on and it loads XP up as normal. Its a strange problem but anyone possibley no anything about this? thanks, craig.
