Due to the High Performance Memory design, motherboards or system configurations may or may not operate smoothly at the JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) standard settings (BIOS Default on the motherboard) such as DDR voltage, memory speeds and memory timing. Please confirm and adjust your memory setting in the BIOS accordingly for better system stability. Example: Kingston HyperX DDR500 PC4000 operates at 2.65V, 3-4-4-8, CL=3. For more information about specification of high performance memory modules, please check with your Memory Manufactures for more details. What kind of computer is it? It appears to be a prebuilt judging by the way you listed the specs. What is your budget? Also if you gave the spec of your CPU (Central Processing Unit) I missed it. What you listed as your CPU looks like the specs for a MoBo (motherboard).
Could I suggest that you read the link posted below and see if perhaps you may just want to build it all from scratch? I think you'll find that you will need a new MoBo as few if any cards worth buying are made that fit into either AGP or PCI. http://www.computer-juice.com/forums...-22013-index2/ BUT if you can wait a couple of days, Carbon (the author of the guide I linked), is coming out with a new, updated guide including list of components and build specs. He said in that thread that perhaps it would be finished tomorrow, but certainly in the next couple of days. Read the one above as much of the info about the individual components and how they work, (ie price/performance), and so on will be applicable. Pay particular attention to what he says about PSU's. New the bottom of the first post, he prices out complete builds from a budget rig (around $450) to an high end, play any game rig, ($1300). Many of the prices on the components I wager will be less than what is in the current thread, so you may be able to buy and assemble any of the builds he priced out for a good bit less than when that guige was first posted. |

Yes, what you have is not worth keeping. For very cheap you can get a new motherboard and then spend the same money on components you would on this (or less) and have a better machine overall. You can of course keep your hard drives and optical drives though.

"I loved the P182 so much that, when my wife's system was all noisy and needed all sorts of cleaning, I bought her one. Then, when I wanted a cat, I bought a P182. The P182 is not a cat per se, but it's still an excellent buy."
