| Hello, I'm getting a new computer at Xmas, looking to build one myself however, as much as i know about operating a computer, fixing computers etc I don't actually know much about hardware so i was hoping i could get some advice please. I'm from the UK so any suggested buys if they were UK ones then it would be appreciated please. What i want it for... Just want the computer to run fast, act as a media server to an extent for my PS3 but it will have its own HD monitor separately but any well priced 24" or over HD monitors then free feel to suggest. I've got a large music collection and have ripped all of my movies onto my previous hard drives so I will put them all onto the computer and just want it for general stuff. I would want it to play at HD quality e.g. I had a blue ray quality movie I would want that to be displayed at the full potential and i may use it to run some music software e.g. cubase. How much? About £400ish I can extend the budget a bit more if need be. After receiving some advice I've been suggested something along the lines of... CPU - Athlon IIx4 620 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173368 - £77.12 or PhenomII x2 550 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/166518 - £73.81 Mobo - MSI 770-C45 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/165438 - £47.81 RAM - DDR3 RAM http://www.ebuyer.com/product/178943 - £80 http://www.cclonline.com/product-inf...115&tid=frooct - £67.50 Video card: I recommend 4670 instead. Cheaper and faster than GT220 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173208 - £51.79 Case - I recommend Casecom 6788 as budget case http://www.ebuyer.com/product/172779 - £24 PSU - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135159 - £50 DVD +/- - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/169683 - £16.99 HD - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173804 - Hard drive - £57.99 Your thoughts would be appreciated please. Thanks, Also to have bluetooth/wireless would i just need to install a PCI? thanks |

| Have you read this? The Budget video rendering/workstation build in the second post should come out better spec-wise and probably cheaper (you don't need a video card for this sort of thing).
