Hi, I will be building my custom build PC soon and I would like to know about the static 'thing'. I have read that I would need an anti-static band but the question is that would I need to buy 2, one for each hand?? (maybe it sounds funny but I do not know!!) And would I have to touch an unpainted part of the case before I touch something?? Where should I be building the PC on a table or on the floor??

Also, if I buy cloves instead of the strap, would it be better??

Hope someone could help.

No you only need one strap for your wrist, attach it to the bottom of a radiator or something and you'll be fine. But there is a cheaper way of doing it... just touch some unpainted metal that is connected to the ground. Touch it a few times, to be sure, and you'll be good to go.

So one wrist band is enough and if I decide to buy the strap, all I have to do is tie it to my wrist and then with the crocodile clip, attach it to an unpainted area of the case + the case should be lying on the floor I assume or am I wrong?

EDIT: But if I buy the cloves, all I have to do is crab the things and put them in place, right?

I dunno about putting the clip onto the case.
Its simple.
Keep the case off the floor especially if its carpet.
Earth yourself as mentioned above.
Dont stand in your bare feet on a carpet when you are working.
Put the case on a table and get to work!
