Default Building A New PC For Christmas NEEDING HELP!

Ok well that saves me a few more dollars thanks just a quick question about it.

this could be a typo but even if the memory "standard" is DDR2 1333 im guessing as long as its a 240-pinn dimm it will fit and just slow down to that speed but you cant put faster in or it will slow to the motherboards speed correct? so that ram should be fine due to it fits just slower then the "standard"?

Also i was thinking about that heatsink and it looked nice so if everything is looking good do you think i should get final things.

Those are the main components anything little i need?
Like for example heat dope or thermal compound (i dont know much about so im going to need some insight on that)

maybe a 65-1 card reader? nice to have and cheap?

but anything components wise that might seem "little" but almost needed for a build?

just let me know and i think i got the pc im going to build THANKS SO MUCH!!

If you get the Xigmatek and the retention bracket you should have no need for thermal material, it'll come with it.

The motherboard's "standard" isn't DDR2 1333, it just means you can clock up to that. It'll be fine.

If you have a digital camera or something get the card reader I guess but I'd skip it if you don't.

Can't really think of anything else.

edit 2: bracket for the Xigmatek S1283

alrighty sounds really good and by showing me that guide do you suggest following it instead of just putting it on as is? and also if i do follow it wouldnt i need a tube of thermal paste due to the kit doesnt come with any that i saw. And if you dont see anything else i need than ill price it up thanks again so much.

It comes with a packet of thermal paste. Put it on the heatpipes like they do, yeah.

That EVGA is a great buy. You can OC it to the point where it actually beats the GTX 280. I'd grab it in a heartbeat, $50 more than the regular one.

so basicly you think the one i posted was the best one out of the 260s BUT

lol i looked at the 280s and they are like 399 with 30 dollar mail in rebates and the 260s are like 330 so i would pay some more for a 280 if you think its a good buy just pick the best out of the 280s please.

lol once i get this thing picked and go through everything one more time ill be all set :)

I would just grab the core 216 and overclock it.
