I used to have a fair bit to do ith computer a few years ago, but but due to work have kinda lost touch with hardware and software.
My dad approched me a few days ago to look into a small office server. The are only a few people who work for the company. He was wanting the server to be located in the office. All data will be stored on the server, any new file a user creates when away from the office will be backed up onto the server when they connect. Access to the server would be need from users homes as well as when working away. also running microsft exchange server aswel. So please could you steer me in the right direction, many thanks Russell |

With a server for business use I'd suggest going for something from a big manufacturer with a warranty.
Have a look at Dell, HP Fujitsu etc. Then Small Business Server 2008. That'll be simple to install and simple to maintain. Whats the budget?

sorry im not too savvy with technology. That's why i joined this forum so that I could sort of explore how technology in this new age functions.
I never knew what the purpose of the server was until you sort of explained it. So like, if you want to have an outlook integrated in your computer, and also have it in your laptop, do you need a server for that? Is that what it's for? |
