Default Buying a computer, need some help.

Mine were like yours thingie. They gave me some money for Christmas but I put the rest in myself. I encountered a few problems on the way - mainly with the GFX card - but all sorted in the end and I learnt from it.

As a side note - do ALL XFX have to use an adapter like I do? Or do they let you take power directly from either 8 pin or 6 pin PCI-E?

Apparently my card has to use the 12v and 5v rails - is this common?

Don't want to drag this too far off topic but I feel it is relevant!

It will be harder with it being in Swedish, but I'll do my best for you.

No, they should be able to go from the PCI-E power cables, infact the 8800GTX I bought a while back (then sold on unused) warned against using anything but the PCI-E power cable and that was an XFX card.

This is about half way in your budget. Rather than providing links to everything I thought it would be easier if I just posted a screen shot of the basket, as all the products have search codes under them, which, if you type into the search bar in the top left, will take you straight to that product.

you think that would be a good price and a good investment for the future?

Also, do you think I'm getting alot more for the cash then with the other computer I linked in my first post?

And also, how would that computer handle the really challenging games such as Crysis?

EDIT : And how would that computer handle games that are old, such as WoW ? Would I get a stable 100 fps in max graphics there ? Maybe even with the Recording program ' Fraps ' toggled on ?

Okay, so I really like the looks of those parts you linked to me, however, a friend told me this graphic card would be a lot better investment ;

Which would you consider to be a better purchase? The Radeon one or the GeForce one?

I think the HD4850, take a look at this review, it has a 4850 and a 9800GT going against each other, I haven't looked at every game, but the 3 games I looked at the 4850 performed better, infact the worst it did was get equal with the 9800GT.

well, like all computer components there will be depreciation. But this system should perform very well for years to come.

I would say yes, it should run better, cooler, and quieter. And if you feel like it you could overclock the CPU and get it working even faster.

It will do fairly well, take another look at the review I stated above, and see the results the 4850 got, it's pretty good.

I don't know about 100fps (I don't know what WoW is like for graphics) but it should do very well, even with fraps running.
