Default Buying a new computer base need help

Hi i'm thinking of buying a new computer base. The one i've found is a Dell Vostro 200. From what i've seen they seem very good value for money. The one I saw comes to about £155 on Dell's website. With vat and shipping it comes to about £230
The specs are:
Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz
2gb DDR 2
500 GB HDD
Windows XP Home/Vista Basic
16X DVD/CD RW
Keyboard + Mouse

It seems a bit too cheap because the other Vostro's start at £230 and they arn't no where near as high spec as the other one. With vat and shipping it's £329 and even if you take off the 19" monitor it's the same price as the one above but much lower spec.
The specs of these are:
1.6 GHz
19" Wide Screen Monitor
1gb Ram
Vista Basic
250 GB HDD
16X DVD/CD RW
Keyboard + Mouse

I can't help thinking theres a big catch somewhere. Can anyone help?

i've looked around but i can't find an offer as good as the first dell. I don't really want to go over £250 but I want at least a 2 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2gb Ram with room for expansion, 500gb HDD, and PCI-E.

Hi Luke.

I've had a look and I can't see any hidden extra's. I'm tempted myself for a new general use home pc, maybe attach some NAS storage for the new lappy's.

Yeah, it's a very good price and I certainly couldn't beat it on a number of builder sites.

Before I buy a new pc i have to sell my old one. Does anyone know what i'm best asking for it on ebay? It's specs are:
Intel Pentium D 2.66 Ghz
2gb DDR 2
80gb HDD
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
AsRock Dual VSTA Quad Core mother board. (Pci-E, AGP, Sata, DDR+DDR2)
Creative sound blaster live

Bit of a mishmash of components there Luke. But nice to see the board is a new(ish) chipset.

Still remember having a 9800pro, awesome card in it's day.

Anyway, I'd be looking around the £150 mark. With the price of dual-core core2 builds dropping all the time (as you've seen with the Dell) I doubt you're going to get much more than that.

The board helps, as does the soundcard but still. Plus it's silly season for sales at the moment, and this extends to pc's.

Maybe wait until Christmas is over with (and people have some money) or keep it?

I'd be happy with getting £150 for it because i'd be taking a couple of stuff of it. I'd be keeping my good GFX card (Radeon X850 XT) and my audigy 2 PlEx soundcard for use with the new PC. Btw, it would also come with a CD/DVD RW and a CD/DVD ROM drive. Oh I forgot to say it does not include an OS because my 500gb HDD packed in today which contained the OS
