Hi

Am having trouble booting my computer. Fan noise is loud, there are no "beeps" and cannot turn off the computer by pushing the on/off button. I have tried unplugging to try and reset plus cleaned dust etc fro fan area.

From reading other posts, it could be the PSU or RAM problems.

Would appreciate some advice.

Thanks

What exactly happens when you press the power button to turn the computer on? And as for turing it off again, try holding the power button in for about 5-10 seconds and see if that turns it off.

How many RAM sticks have you got? if you have more than one, ry removing them all, then try booting the computer up with onyl one stick of RAM at a time, it maybe that you have a fault stick. Also if you have access to a computer that is compatable with your RAM/CPU try them in that computer to see if that works.

This is usually PSU. What kind of PSU did you buy?

+1 Swap the PSU, cheapest and easiest option to try first, this is assuming it was working fine and just stopped.
