i hope someone can help as ive got a fujitsu siemens comp with a pent 4 processer and cant get it to boot past the opening screen. ive tried reinstalling windows but it wont boot up that far to read the disk so i was wondering if anyone has had this prob before or is it a major malfunction with the comp....... any help would be gratefully appreciated.......

since lst post ive removed hardrive and comp fires up but once hard drive is reinsteted it doesnt how can i combat this problem any ideas would be appreciated

buy a new hard drive might be your only way out. first try making sure all the connections are dust free, every cable is where is is supposed to be and the bios is set to normal if you modified it. second, if you have an older pc or even a different hard drive try putting that in, if that doesnt work try the sata cable it may be broken. after that i would say a new hard drive is the only way forward

Does it detect the hard drive at bios? when you turn the pc? Usually says 'Detecting IDE Hard drives' or something along those lines.

Also check the boot order in the bios. Although this does sound like a Hardware problem.
