I might be going on a bit here but I have to tell you all the symptoms.
My computer keeps freezing at different times. It won't start and when it does its not reliable. Various start-ups and frequently freezing whilst just using the thing..!!

It freezes at Auto Detecting Devices. Yellow light shows constant so I press reset button.
Starts up gets to Hardware Monitor then asks me to press Ctl-Alt-Delete. This repeats a few times so I turn computer off for half an hour.
Restart to Start Windows Normally.... goes through this process then black screen with hour glass on it.
Press reset button. Start Windows Normally.... comes up Freezes on Log On screen.
Press reset button Freezes on Auto-Detecting Sata-1.
    Press reset button.. Same again.
Press reset button loads to Windows Log On screen and freezes.
    Turn the damn thing off.
Hour later started up OK and using it to post this question. As I said ...unreliable.

This must be the worst PC I have had for problems for starting up and reliability. 18 months old been back to builders twice and had new hard drive fitted. Now out of warranty.

The only item I have put on it is a graphics card but the PC was giving me problems before this. I have also put in a 120 size fan to cool the card.

Sorry this is long but my patience is running out and I’m thinking of getting a new mobo and try that.

    SPECS....
    AMD Athlon11x4 processor
    Biostar Gf8200e 4Gb motherboard
    550 Watt Power supply
    Seagate 500Gb hard drive
VTX Radion HD 5450 1Gb graphic card (fitted by myself)
    OS.... XP Pro

Thanks for looking and advice would be appreciated.

Just uninstall any recent additions or remove the scheduled task backontrack from start->control panel->scheduled task->backontrack by pressing <del> key from scheduled task.Once this program get removed from schduled task, your PC should not get freezed.
