Hi all
Thanks in advance for any help it really is greatly appreciated. Ok my computer was working absolutely fine one day. Completely freezes whilst I was on the internet. Mouse wouldn't respond nor the keyboard. My music stopped playing and the screen completely froze. I waited 1 min then manually restarted the pc. Wouldn't boot up. It got to the bios screen then froze again. Did this a few times. Now however I get nothing on the screen and the light stays orange to show no graphics card/computer is detected. Because of this I figured it might be a Gfx card problem. I took everything out of the pc and reseated it all. I also reset the CMOS. Turned on pc. All the computer turned on as normal all fans and lights etc (same as before) but the gfx card did not start up and obviously no response from the monitor. This made me believe it was a gfx card problem so put my old one in and booted. Same problem no response from monitor and pc wouldn't boot. Although the fan on this card did start. This leads me to believe its either the Motherboard thats gone kaput or my power supply. Could it be the power supply? I'm unsure as to whether the rest of the computer would power on and it just not have enough power to power the gfx card. Or would nothing respond if it was the power supply? I am more than willing to try anything you advise and thanks again for taking the time to read this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Matt p.s. I have also tried a different monitor with both graphics cards Same problem. |

Does sound like the PSU ....... often a PSU will still provide some power, but fail when put under full load, such as at boot up.
