Well I may be willing to get a new mother board aswell, but I am not sure If I will be able to do it. Just how hard is it to install a new motherboard? I also am not sure if it will fit and then if I have enough power supply, maybe I should just get a new cpu only if its to much trouble.

Like I said before I have a Pentium 4 3.0 (478pinns)CPU, someone had said I could consider a new motherboard and new faster CPU.

My question is the current CPU I have what you would consider old and in need of upgrade since I play a lot of games and thus I should get a new Motherboard and better CPU?

Hi again,

I just want to update my situation. I bought a new CPU and CPU FAN as well as ram. However sadly when I put it all together I still had the same problem I raised at the beginning. When I power my computer on the fans turn on and a little light on the mother board lights up and thats it. Nothing shows up on the screen and the disk drives won't even open.

My guess is that the burning smell I smelled before was either the motherboard or the power supply. I would guess it can not be the power supply since like I said the fans turn on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Juan.

I was just looking at some of the capacitors on my motherboard and some of them have their tops bulging upwards a little. It seems like that may be it going to test some other tips from Is your PC dead? Find out why and how to fix it Thread.

Yeah it does not. What really is bad is that I just bought a new CPU(old one got a pin broken anyway) and now I may have to buy a new mother board. If I would have know I would have just bought a new better mother board and new better CPU. I got a 3.0 ghz with I think 800 mhz 478 pins how good or bad would you say that is compared to the newer CPU's now in days?

I got it from NewEgg. Do they let you return it for any reason. And more importantly I am not sure about my ability to put in a new mother board. Just how hard is it? Also If I get a new mother board will I need a new case and new Power supply. If I do then that would cost to much.
