Default Computer Running Very Slow

Hi all!

I have recently given my computer a good clean out (I Think!) using ad-aware, AVG anti virus and C-Cleaner. I also defragged my C drive, external hard drive and registry. It was running smoothly for several hours then suddenly got really slow as before. Not sure what is the problem and could do with some help.

Thanks!

At least 2GB of RAM is needed for Vista Home Premium to run well, a RAM increase will make a huge difference to your speed.

And from that CPU, is it a Laptop?

Yeah its a Sony Vaio. 2GB of RAM may make it more reliable but its been fine the whole time I've had it (around 2 Years) and now it keeps locking up. Everything works fine until I try to open computer, then everything goes slow and each mouse click takes five to ten mins to register.
So basically, I don't think its the RAM due to the fact that this has only just started happening.

Might be old and broken but that's a quick guess. Have you done anything new to your PC recently? Installed an unknown application or anything like that?
