So here is the problem, first my computer was working fine. Then when I booted it up it said something like "windows\system32\windows is corrupt and it told me to enter a windows disc or something. Now the computer will not turn on at all. Nothing, no power, will not turn on what so ever. I already paid dell 39 dollars to try to help me and that was a wasit of money, and my local computer shop wants 49 to look at it. I have decent knowlage about computers and was wondering if there was anything I could do myself. Dell people said it was probably a motherboard or power supply that would run 200. I have no money to drop on this shit right now. I am just looking for some help or some way to check what is wrong. Thanks alot.

If it doesn't turn on it's either fuses in the plug, the power supply or the motherboard.

The only way to be sure is to swap them, starting with fuses, then PSU and so on.

If you have no money you're pretty stuffed.

Well I meant I would like to replace with cheap but decent parts. Is there any thread that explains how to check the things above?
