Default Connecting two computers

Right, firstly i'm a newbie on this forum and am sorry if i haven't opened this thread in quite the right place, so feel free to move it to a more suitable one.

Thought i'd start a topic to find out some stuff about using two computers as one. I know of distributed computing but as far as i can tell this only shares the idle cpu power over the net.

The whole reason that I got interested in doing this was due to the fact that i came into ownership of a very large tower; it had 2 m/b's in it that both had duel processors. all the internal components of this case were bust and obsolete (they were over a decade old). I have been frantically modding the innards of the case to take everything i need to setup my two other computers (had the parts but not the spare cases).

I was now wondering if there is any way that i can use the computers as one (so that i can increse my resources of ram and processor etc.) instead of just networking them or using a KVM?

thanks for any help!

A google search may get you some results but I don't know of any way to do what you want to do.

A KVM switch will let you use each one separately but with one keyboard, monitor and mouse.
