hi guys,

im considering getting a Mac but i dont know which one i should get i just want to play about with it to learn etc etc and ive always wanetd a mac

Being that this is a Forum mainly about PC's you will get a biased opinion.

I'm not good with MAC's, but there may be someone on here that may beable to help

yeah but to be fair a pc (personnal computer) is a computer that can be either a windows /mac or linux based amchine

Thousands of dollars just to play around with an OS doesn't seem like a great investment to me.

Well, the new line of iMacs are out now so you should be able to pick up an old end of line one for about £600.

That price should get you the 20" screen one with 2.0Ghz and 1GB RAM.

What do you use your computer for? What are you hoping to get out of the Mac that you can't get out of a (much cheaper) windows based PC.

no windows all the way, macs are too much money for somthing that isn't as good as a windows computer

I think this is a blatant example of Mac bashing.

It doesn't really help the original poster, and Macs can be better for certain tasks.

Not to mention the security benefits.

If you want to play around id go with an m15x alienware laptop, deep deep deeeeeeep pockets required though.

hmm...my cuzing knows almost everything about MACs. they aint bad, but from a gamer standpoint, PC is the way to go. From a Collage student standpoint, MAC could be just what you need. From a person who has always wonted one (i understand whole heartedly) and its really not about the need or like of it, just always wanted one, i say go for it. i have had tons of times like that. like i always wanted a Lotus Esprit, even though it wouldn't be what i need (its a really cool sport car that the average person can get). so i say go for it. but maybe a price range would be a good start.
