Default Darn Hard Drive is Disabled!

Alright, So i just bought a bunch of new parts becuase I fried my last mobo. New parts included: New Mobo, Processor, Graphics Card, Ram. I thought I'd be able to use my old hard drives, however, something is wrong.

My hdd's show up as disabled, if they even show up at all. I tried enabling in Bios, nothin happened. I thought I'd be able to load up the os from my old hdd and just install all the drivers if need be. And if that didn't work, I had a harddrive I could format and reinstall the OS.
First of all, Im an idiot, as My new mobo has only one ide port and I need 2, 1 for my 2hdd's , and one for my 2 Dvd drives. Can I use a hdd and a Dvd reader on the same ide connector? And is there anyway for me to enable my hdd?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes you can have a HDD and a DVD Drive on the same channel. Configure the jumpers, so the HDD is the Master and the DVD the slave.

You cannot just run the old HDD with OS installed .... this will cause boot problems, as it will be looking for all your old hardware, as per the drivers.
Just do a fresh install of your OS.

Make sure the boot drive sequence in bios is correct ...... i.e to install your OS : DVD Drive 1st IDE HDD 2nd.

Also if you want to add your old drive(s), you could install A PCI IDE Card.
