Default Dead Computer

Hi all!!

Recently whilst on my computer the power cut and the computer switched off..

So after this happened i tried switching it back on and the computer is dead, doesn't come on at all..

Opened up the case and the LED on the motherboard still is on, so don't think it is the motherboard or powersupply? Or am i wrong?

If the LED light on the motherboard still comes on could it still be the motherboard the is blown?

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!!!

If the power went off, and your computer will not turn back on, chances are that the power supply was damaged with the outage. It may be passing enough power to light the indicator on the motherboard, but it could still be fried.

One thing you may want to try, is to unplug the computer for about 20 minutes, during this time, take out the CMOS battery for about 10 minutes, put it back in, plug it back up, and give it a go. If it doesn't fire up then, chances are it's the power supply. In the worst case the board and other items may be damaged also.

You may also want to try the "bare-bones" approach. Basically disconnect everthing in the PC except what is needed to boot. Reconnect each item until you find the problem.

Hope this helps!
