thanks alot man,

i'm trying to find the cmos jumper, got a pdf of my motherboard (INTEL D945GNTLR) manual but it seems completely different to whats inside my computer.
what should it look like, is it near the cr2032 coin battery?

thanks for all your help guys

alex, in your troubleshooting guide (a lot of work you did, thanks mate) i would like to test the power button like you say in step 3, how do i short the 2 pins? i can't do that with the power on can i?
