Default Dell D600 battery no charge have replaced it and power cord.

I have a Dell Latitude D600. About a month ago, I noticed my battery would not charge. I assumed it needed replacing, as I have owned it for about 2 years and it had its original battery in it when I bought it. However, I replaced the battery and nothing happened. Then, I used compressed air in a can to blow out the connection in the computer. Still nothing. I noticed that when I plugged the power cord into the wall first and then into the computer, there was a place in the connection where it would at least recognize the battery's low charge when I was plugging it in, but that would only last a split second and then again, no sign that the battery was charging, no sign that the battery had a sall charge, and after some time, no charge accumulating on the battery. After some research, I learned that my power cord could be the culprit even if it still powered the computer. So I replaced that. My new cord came last night, and when I plugged it in, the same result as before. The battery light is not even flashing to signal the weak charge in the battery anymore. What else could it possibly be?!!

Thank you to anyone who can help!
