Hi I upgraded to Windows 7 last week all was fine until today. Now I keep getting there is an error on the hard drive raid 0. I have to turn it on and off 3 times then after 5-10 minutes it will load up.

I have a Dell xps 420 nothing has been changed it's all as it was when I got it.

Might be a dead drive. How long have you had the PC?

Backup your data, all of it. Run chkdsk on both hard drives.

Break the array as soon as possible, RAID 0 is about the stupidest thing you could ever do on any PC without SSDs.

I had the computer about a year. And the error is on the main drive.

I have 3 drives on my computer.

C:/ With the operating system on.
D:/ Thats a backup drive.

Then my external backup drive.

I ran chkdsk but nothing happened only the DOS screen appeared for a second and that was it.

You might well have to format and reset the RAID formation. Windows 7 might not work in RAID the same way Vista did..

Did you run chkdsk through the start menu? You need to start a command prompt (cmd) first then type it in there.
