From the link about Commodore resurrection a few posts back.

Now that shocked me at first, I thought wow really? When computer were so new and futuristic, expensive and bulky?

But then I realised actually they only sold the most (presuming its true) because so many different models are built these days! Plus a lot of people build their own, which of course doesn't get counted, and even if it did it would be very varied.

They were written in C++ and rarely worked.

C++ - really? That surprises me, because I thought a lot of modern stuff, like Sky say actually just uses C, because it's cheaper or something like that?

Yes, afraid so! Apple got their great design idea from a VTT!

Remember the later versions that looked like coolbags?

Isn't that a mac pro? Mac Pro's are the massive tower systems. Usually pretty powerful. I don't follow mac's tbh.

I vote with your dad. PC's are better, for me. I've always used windows, never seen a reason to move over so why should I go and re-learn where everything is and have a computer that's very expensive. The Mac pro is a silly amount of money whether you get the cheapest or best one and you can buy a PC for the same amount often with better hardware..

Here here.

Although I have to say, I do like OS X I find it nice to use.

Also a lot of people say I should use it, because it' supposedly superior for music video and editing etc.

I might try out a a cheap secondhand macbook someday.

You're best off borrowing a friends, macbooks that are any good still cost £lots even when used. When I get a job, I'll be saving for a Mac like, best of both worlds but I don't expect to be using it as much as my PC. Everything on Vista and Win 7 is where I have come to expect it to be. Maybe I'm resistant to change..

One of these things I think:

Took me ages to think what they were called. I've got one in a cupboard somewhere.

There were various standards around before VGA and many just plugged into a TV or similar with an analog cable.
