I agree you're digging yourself out of a hole but we might be able to stabilize it. I think we need to know the model and any spec variation first though.

Make that "don't buy OEM computers" and I think we have a much more useful moral :p

Think to be honest if anyone is gonna buy a pc over the net they have to do their homework, and do it properly, ive nearly bought items off the net only to find that googling the company name brought up all manner of bad customer relations, items not working on arrival, high price of returns ,or they just dont answer e-mails or its rare to find a phone number to ring to complain, i know it may be hard to fathom but id rather get a pc from pc (we con u ) world and have a face to face row when things go wrong, then a silent company hiding behind its internet face conning the un-educated in pc
My father also got done with a TINY pc, two weeks later the firm went bust, his pc crashed 12 times in 4 days, if he had googled as i did he would have found out the co was using inferior parts and was on the brink of collapse, still we live and learn
Im not saying all pc sellers are bad but do your homework and do it properly, we all know dell and alot of us knock em, but they are okay for the non-builder, as is aliemware

my dell desktop has outlasted all my expectations i love it, best desktop I've ever bought.
I've had it for 4 years and the only thing to fail was a psu. I've had emachines Compaq and a few more and my dells always came out on top. its obviously not as good as most custom built pc's but i find it extremely reliable. But finding compatible components is frustrating.

i really lost right now and not sure what to do

i just dont think i can build a computer.

i am not a technical guy that knows how to trouble shot when somthing goes wrong. my strengh is not in that area.

there is really 2 options left

1. buy a new computer.

the trouble is my i love my monitor and i wouldnt want to exchange it. it is a very big one and looks like it is worth alot of money. it has good quality picture

if i buy a new computer then it has to be compatible with my monitor

i am thinking of dell as i heard it doesnt have problems. my needs are pretty basic.

i just want a computer that run smoothy.

no hard ware or software problem

i still like to listen to recommendations

if i do buy one i would like to buy one that runs smoothy with no problems

if i do buy a new computer i would like to know how to sell one too.

i like one from high street

2. take it to the computer repair shop. dont know if they are trust worthly or the price of getting it fixed can actually cost more than a new computer.

it is a hardware problem. after brieflly looking at a build your computer book. it looks like they cut corners in building my computer so something doesnt go well with the mother board making it crash.

the software now works fine but it was installed really badly. i dont want a computer which is installed really badly

what would you recommend for someone who is not good with computers.

the reason why i am on here is really to maintain a computer

it would be great to hear from people who brought from high street and happy with there computer.

who is new computers also

Ill get back to you on this m8
I have a m8 who works for customs and knows the trade discription act and the distant selling act
will ring him and get an answer for you, at best it might be a new pc at worst it might be a on site repair or nothing
still worth a try m8
ill let you know ok

if your going to buy a new computer and use it for the reasons stated above then id recommend a dell, its not for the hardcore gamers or oc'ers etc but it is more then enough for average use,
if you are interested in getting a dell then i recommend a dell dimension 4600i
here's a review link http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?im...GB267%26sa%3DN

and a few pictures ,pretty much the same as my setup

prices range from 250 online which i find to good to be true , and around 400-650 in shops i paid 550 for mine. hope this helps a little
