Default Dual Core - Intel vs AMD

I'm thinking of going dual core very soon.

Has anyone any experience of such technology and what I should choose?

Some say AMD some say Intel...

Links to some comparisons or stats would be good.

Dave.

Default Dual Core - Intel vs AMD

CNet have done a comparison of the two and decided the AMD 64bit Athlon won by a huge margin. Check out the article here

Toms Hardware did the most intense one I could find, they tested it probably as much as is possible so I'd trust this one overall. I'll let you read it before telling you which processor one this one, AMD or Intel!?

Default Dual Core - Intel vs AMD

Yeah, but...

Those tests are comparing AMD 64 X2 with Pentium Dual Core.

Intel now have 'Core 2 Duo' dual core cpu's

The later is the type I'm on about.
