trying not to sound too stupid but when looking on the internet, and u find a fan size, do u measure it from the middle out or side to side or corner to corner?

i broke a blade off my CPU fan and its now noisy and looking to replace it

Probably. Standard ones are square with 4 holes at the corners. If yours looks like that it is probably standard.

Now do you set it to blow or suck? Many arguments about that!

If you have room, stick an adapter on top of the heatsink and a larger fan. It will be much quieter.

Can't find any from 70mm, sorry.

Might be better to replace the heatsink too.

Maplin sell 80mm--120mm adapters, also 60mm--80mm I think. They also sell the HS/F assembly.

Local computer shop?

Far more expensive though! You would have to go with suck rather than blow as it is thermostatically controlled.
