Hey everyone. I have never built one before and I have a question about building a new computer. Really the question is mainly on suggestion for Gaming PC Parts.

What are your suggestions for:
Motherboard:
Processor:
Video Card(preferably NVIDIA):
Hard drive:
CD Drive:
Sound:
Operating System(this one more about installation):
Power Supply:

And if I missed anything please add it.

Thanks in advance.

Well it all depends on your budget, and one component will affect another.

Your motherboard will be decided upon on whether or not you want decent OC facillities, along with plugability (if that's a word) as in, features, plenty of sata ports, 2xPCI-E slots if you're running SLi, or intend to, etc.

Your CPU will depend on your budget, most likely a dual core, unless your extravagant and want a quad, but I dont recommend it.

Video card more than likely an 8800.

Hard drive, if your an enthusiast then go for a RAID array, otherwise sticking to 200gb+ will suffice.

CD Drive, any dvd drive will do.

Sound: Depends on your gaming, you want a decent sound card if you want to power 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound, but onboard should be alright if your using standard speakers and/or headphones.

OS: depends on your gaming needs. XP usually, but if you want DX10 specific (which is a big let down so far) then its vista.

Power Supply: Depends on the rest of your system, mainly your GFX card. It needs enough total wattage and amps on your 12V rail to easily power your whole system.

Yeah completely depends on the budget really - can range from £500 - £3000+

What types of games you hoping on playing and realistically how much do you want to spend?

And lets not forget the resolution of your monitor.

The screen resolution plays a huge part in spec'ing a gaming pc.
