Are you going to be building this PC yourself? Or is this a spec you have bee quoted?

To be honest, I don't think it is a particularly great spec.

Motherboard is fine if you want to spend that much money on it.

Q9660 is kind of old now, and never been that great for gaming. I'd recommend the E8400 instead.

Memories good.

ATI 4850 is basically a better but then the 8800GT at the moment, and failing that, the 9600 is a better buy then the 8800GT.

Hard Drive is fine, some people say there is better ones available, I only use Western Digital and never have had too many problems.

Never heard of that PSU manufacturer, and from a quick Google search it looks cheap and crap. You also don't need that much power.

Here is a thread on Overclockers UK which is basically the best bang for your buck at the moment.
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...php?t=17883751

Use one of those specs and you won't go far wrong.

Also, I'm not a gamer but I don't think any £700 system will run Crysis on high settings.

Well it's ok for a first time, but could definatly be better, like serverguy said, try using one of those OCUK "best bang for buck" systems, and you won't go far wrong, however if you would prefer, we could try to sort one out specifically, and as for playing Crysis on high easily for about £700, not very likely, unless you are going to be using DX9, then it may be possible.

The main problem I have with the build, is it's very unbalanced, you have a top of the range motherboard, paired with only a medicorce CPU, and GFX card. And also the PSU as previously stated by serverguy, it is quite a cheap, nasty one, and could quite possibly die, taking your system with it, or just not provide sufficient current at a stable rate. My recomendations would be to go for a Corsair, as they are very reliable PSU's, and aren't as expansive as others, probably go for the 650W, or the 750W version at the most, as that will still provide plenty of extra power.

Sorry if I seemed a little harsh, but it's better to be harsh and get the best possible system, than not.

Right.

If you don't want to spend more than £700, I's suggest something similar to this.

You could swap the case for a Antec Nine Hundred if you so wanted.

Or, if £700 is your absolute limit, you could use that build, but take the extra cooler out, as the stock cooler will be able to cool the CPU enough normally, but not that quietly, it just depends on preference.

Yeah, I guess you could.

If you're not overclocking the stock cooler will be fine, but a bit noisy.

Yea, that was my thinking, as if he doesn't feel confident to build the computer, he won't be OCing it

I think this guy does intend on building it himself, I think it was the other thread that the person was getting it built at a computer shop
