Hey guys and girls, My cousin is selling me his laptop which is a Packard Bell Easynote MB88 and consists: T5450 1.66GHz 2MB L2 667FSB, 2GB RAM, 8600M GS 512mb, 160GB for £100. I'm getting it for sure, but I wanna hear what you guys think of it. He's only had it for about 1 1/2 years and hes barely used it.

But 1 thing that hit my mind about this was, I heard alot of 8600M and 8400M had alot of issues with overheating which causes the card to die, due the heat > cool cycle of when you play games, stop playing games and the solder on the card becomes soft when its heated up and cracks when it cools down. Personally, I have a laptop cooling pad. So would that help?

(P.S. He never used it for gaming, just for browsing, watching movies/anime and maybe occasion games of Warcraft 3)

    Thanks in advance.

Wow, thats a nice laptop for £100, what games are you thinking of playing with it?

Also I had a laptop cooling pad for my laptop before i changed to a desktop, and to be fair it was a belkin and it worked a charm, the cold air it blew onto the bottom of it was unbelivable and it was quiet.

It extended my laptop life an extra year before the HDD Died then the motherboard.

If all else fails, ask him if he has warrenty on it for a backup.

Well i'm planning to play MW2, Borderlands and Street Fighter 4 on it. Well I have a logitech cooling pad, it does the job for my current T4200 + 2GB RAM + GMA 4500MHD nicely. He doesn't have warranty on it sadly, since its been over a year. But hopefully it'll be fine for another 2 years. It'll be a nice upgrade from my current GMA 4500MHD.
