With it being a gaming computer i would drop the processor to a core 2 duo, maybe the E6750, and get a better graphics card with the money spare. Look at the 8800GTS option, if affordable. I know here in the UK they're around £250

Does the quad core have any advantage's over the dual core other than multi tasking?.

Another question.................the quad core's available aren't higher than the speeds of dual core's ?

No,unless you include higher price or power consumption as an advantage

Thats the way it is at the moment, but if you use applications that utilise the 4 cores then the quad core will easily outperform the dual cores anyway.
