the product is rather old, BUT! i have seen what it can do for your boot times, and personally, i HATE wating for my PC to boot up (appox 1-2 min), but with i RAM, its about 4-8 seconds to boot up.

http://video.google.com/videosearch?...rch=google.com

as seen in those videos. iRAM uses RAM like a HDD. my question is, (since i want amazingly fast boot times) would this product be worth it? i mean, it doesnt come with RAM, but RAM is dirt cheap. especially since it only uses DDR RAM instead of DDR2 or 3.

this is the product

i was guna get this YEARS ago, but never really knew what it was intended for.

I'm sure I've read DDR is more expensive than DDRII these days?

Due to production being discontinued?

Maybe I'm wrong, but even so, there are modern things doing the same like I mentioned in another thread. Whichever website I read that on I'm pretty sure it did come with the RAM anyway.

I'll see if I can't dig it up for ya

oh thats OK. i love the idea of running an OS on RAM though, i just wish there was a way to do it without using a Virtual machine. i wana do it for real. like iv seen some people do it with the i-RAM. i cant just use my own regular RAM...can i?

Not if it's in the motherboard I shouldn't have thought.

If it was in this I-RAM thing, or the equivalent I forgot the name of, yeah sure you can, it just acts like a regular HDD, but way faster.

if you could find the other thing besides the i-RAM that would be most helpful.
