Think you would need to get a new card with just a heatsink. :?

I used to not be able to sleep when leaving my PC on, but, you actually will get used to it and not notice it.

yep guess best luck is to just replace the fan, one more question the fan for my old ati graphics card works fine, so could i just put that one an my new card (old one is much quiter). only difference between my old and new card is that old one was a ati radeon 9800 pro 128 mb memory, and new one is ati radeon 9800xt 256 mb memory, so could i still use my old fan on the new card?

Not sure if you can swap the fans... as far as I know they may spin at different speeds and have different cooling power... your bigger newer card may overheat.

Have a look online I think you can get aftermarket large heatsinks for most graphics cards so you can lose the fan alltogether.

I riped off the cooler and heat sink from my graphics card and stuck a water cooler block on it that feeds the heat to the resivoir where it's cooled the water cooler I use has no noise at alland can cool any two processors at the same time. Now the motherboard fan is too loud and the hard drive makes alot of noise.

Yup, water cooling will definitely sort noise problems, kits are around £200.

Reserator from Zaleman £180 it has a tiny pump can only hear it if I hold it to my head. A lot of water coolers have a noisy pump. Water plumbing looks scary in a pc case but if you follow the manual and don't turn on till you have checked that its water tight for a couple of hours it can't go wrong. With the reserator be sure to turn it on you can't tell when it's on or off unless you look at the flow indicator. I have a temp alarm wired to the processor just in case and leave cooler off messages on my desk.

Firstly, i wouldnt recommend just trying to swap the cooler its not that simple, each model of card usually has different mounting holes for the cooler.

You'll also need to remove the T.I.M (Thermal Insulating Material) from the gpu and re-apply new before installing a new cooler.

Watercooling is overkill to be frank, and painfully expensive when you take into account the original cost of the card and water cooling isn't as simple as it looks, theres pressure testing, choosing the correct liquid (some liquids are more conductive than manufacturers would have you believe. I know.)

The reserator mentioned is a damn good radiator in that its passive so you've no noise to worry about. but its huge and you'll need room around it to let air circulate.

My advice? Have a look at the Accelero website at their gpu cooler, but also have a look at the Zalman Vf700 and VF900 series of gpu coolers, i'm unsure if any will fit your card (I'll let you do that search :D ) but the vf series fits pretty much any card.
