Howdy!

Im having some problems with a computer I just got off of my friend, and I dont have the faintest clue on what the problem is.

I can start the computer, play in the bios, ect, but only when a HDD is not hooked up.

All the hardware is compatable, as all of these components have been in running order together before.

Whenever I hook up the harddrive(s), it just starts, the cpu(I think) makes a few little noises, and then the computer shuts down... and this may happen a few times. I can hook up a DVD rom no problem, but not a hdd... Im baffeled.

PLEASE help me, as this is to be my CSS computer until I save for a new one. hopefully within the month.

If you are getting beeps when you boot with the HDD fitted, these are bios codes, which tell a story.

Have a look here and see if you can identify the beep sequence.
