Greetings and welcome to the forum!

Now I am not from the UK nor does the conversion I do ofter work out correctly as far as money goes, but I will offer my opinion on this -- I am just that kind of guy hahaha.

Anyway, Sounds like you are a on the go kind of fella and you are doing a lot of mobile applications. School and work are all computer uses that indicate away from home. Photo Shop does as well, at least to a certain extent and therefore I would suggest a laptop instead of the tower. Just seems like you would get more out of your computer if you could take it to the local coffee shop (well, tea shop for the UK I suppose, not sure are the brittish still big on tea? I am Irish myself so we rarely contaminate our systems with anything other than liqueur. hahaha

Mostly I have just stopped in to say hello and bid you a good day, but hope I helped out somehow.

700eu = around $1,400us Currency Calculator

You already have a laptop so if it were me I would consider a tower. Photoshop/schoolwork/programming/music/youtube etc. probably means a lot of hours. A constant power supply will probably be preferred. So why not a tower for heavy use and the laptop for on the go or casual use.

Also, I have not moved to Vista yet but I have been reading a lot where 1 gig of ram is the bare minimum. You might want to go for 2 just to be sure.

well i think i will keep my laptop as you say i was just wondering if there was any advantage over a tower and i think ill go for as top spec as i can afford and possibly dish out for some decent antivirus as like to make keyloggers (for fun only) and i have a habit of opening my own viruses my self
im making them to get fmiliar with scripts not to kill peoples pc just so you know

If you are stressing your computer a lot then you may want a tower. Easier to replace parts if needed.
