| Its so annoying. what happens is the computer is fine but all of the sudden is locks up for a second, the goes back to being normal. is does this so often. at least once a minute. i thought it was the bad RAM stick, so i got rid of the bad stick, but i still have the same problem! what could this be and how can i go about fixing this!!!

| My old PC did exacly the same, was the PSU or hard drive, narrowed it down to that before I sold the machine. Basically if i swapped the power plug to the hard drive it would go away for a few more weeks, then come back, swap and carry on. I had a shit PSU so I would imagine it was that.

| It cant be my HDD's as i have tested numerously on them for any defects. and my PSU is rather good. no more than a 1 and a half old. is there a way i can test if it IS the PSU though?

| New hardware can be faulty so don't rule anything old on age.

| Try another... basically. Buy a cheap one for testing, won't hurt having a spare.

| Well, if you are building a new one just get the PSU before you sell.

| even if i could sell the computer as a whole, it wouldn't help cuz i cant give them a bad PSU. (i would keep the good one for the next build) so i guess i'll just sell part by part. excluding the PSU from that list of course. arg! i need money so bad -_-

| How do you know it is the PSU? You haven't confirmed that yet.

| what else can it be? i ran hard core diognostics on all my computer parts. the only error i got was the RAM stick (which i already took out) and the only thing the software couldn't diagnose is the power supply. logically, it has to be the PSU. what other thing can it be?

| It could be anything, i am purely offering a hunch, without swapping stuff you will never know.
