Default HELP ! ! ! First Computer Build $5000 Budget Please Give Me Your Opinion

Had to stay in Budget Carbon so I had no room for frills. Notice there is no water cooler, (or CPU cooler at all), no GPU coolers,nd no specialized gaming NIC (although this one looked cool).

Ah, tough break.

Wow very constructive guys.....

To make a point about opinions.
Me:

Sound card: I wouldnt bother motherboard supports Dolby Home Theater audio anyway(I am anti soundcard though because I think its a waste of money but again thats up to you to decide).
Carbon:

Suggesting a i7 but dismissing a sound card or a SSD as "too expensive" is great.
Bubba:

I didn't add a sound card because Soundblasters don't work with Vista correctly and I don't know of any others. Besides, the onboard is good.
I think the soundcard and SSD will make little difference to

ok well i would like a computer that is of high resolution, unreal graphics and sounds if u r able to help me out i would appreciate it,
Lol well I guess a soundcard should be added if thats what he wants.
I dont see any mention of anything that needs a fast HD though.

The build I recommend with those components overclocked(the mobo and cooling I suggest will make this relatively easy)will blow Carbons build away for gaming or anything else (excluding any apps that require a superfast HD but none are mentioned anyway.)

Yeah, but I'm STILL right that Soundblaster's don't work correctly in Vista so I can't recommend one of those. I can't recommend anything else lol because I've never used a sound card other than a Soundblaster lol.

So what did you think of MY build Krill? Top of the line for only 1200 over his budget. Take away 12 GB's of RAM and it STILL kicks ass and IS in budget lol.

If I had 7 or 8 grand just to waste, I would DEFINATELY build that rig lol and have fun doing it.

I made another post making fun of both you and Carbon and your argument lol, but as I was just about finished, I hit CTRL and some other key by mistake with my fat fingers and dumped the whole thing. It was LONG too and I'm too lazy to redo it.

err I thought your build was kind of hmm.... insane

You did well to find such pricey ram but failed on the GPU.
This is where its at.LINK.

Creative are scum! lol
I would boycott them just for their awful treatment of users.

I am refering to this type of thing.

Hahaha, I'm sure with the help of the Antec Refrigerator all sorts of false comparisons can be made. "You see, if you buy this case with fifteen 120mm fans, you can overclock your system to at least 5.6ghz and more BungholioMarks in BungholioMark 09. Can't do that with those scrub midtowers though, they don't reduce the ambient temperature by 50C."

If you can't compare apples to apples that's a sign that what you're recommending isn't really a good idea.

Haha I wasnt going to reply to you again but how can I resist!

Your arguments are getting weaker and weaker. Now you must resort to ridiculous exaggerations .....
The Antec 1200 has 6x120mm fans not 15.
Plus a larger fan on the top.
The speed of these fans is adjustable to help reduce noise.

With D0 stepping and the cooling I suggest there is a very good chane the buyer will reach 4Ghz or more.
Sadly not 5.6Ghz as you stupidly suggest.

Regardless, for an extra few $100 he can have a 4ghz monster that will be well cooled, very fast, have an option for crossfire(your board lacked) and have loads of space for whatever else the buyer wants to put in it(case has provisions for water cooling).

Its a better system Carbon for not that much extra money. If he wants to save some money and go your route good luck to him.
If he thinks my idea is a worthy one thats fair enough too.

I dont know if your inflated ego will be able to handle it though....

Holy overpriced Vid cards Batman. That is just insane. Of course I'm thinking about getting this one, but that is when and if I can get paid for video work lol.

I've posted about Creative, Vista, and DanielK a million times it seems like lol. That's why I always say that they don't work in Vista. Creative DELIBERATELY disabled them for Vista the illegitimate rodents.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/hyperbole

I'm not sure you realize this but a higher effective clock speed does absolutely nothing for gaming. And the 955 is overclockable as well, not to mention that in general triple-cores like the 720 overclock better than quads. To on one hand recommend the 1200 "because it's hot" and then discuss massive overclocks is irreconciliable: it's clear from your earlier posts as well that your motivation here is the soup-of-the-month XXTREME HARDCORE GAMER hardware and not even reasonable but not entirely cost effective increases in performance (or else you would have suggested a SSD as well). If you want to play "I'm not talking to you" or if the OP wants your input that's fine but I'm going to keep correcting misinformation.

Thanks for the lesson on hyperbole genius.
I prefered to ridicule your useless post rather than take it as you may have wanted me to.
Now go away unless you have something constructive to add.

Edit
:Where did I say the Antec 1200 was hot?
And those CPUs do not and will not in general clock as high as the i7.
Stop pretending you dont know that and be a bit more up front and honest with your replies.

Edit2:haha I must keep editing to keep up with your constantly changing post!!
May as well add something useful while im here i suppose.
