If your OS is going to be Vista, I'd recommend you put atleast 3GB of RAM in your system.

Also, instead of going for a 9500GT, got for atleast 8800GT or 9800GT for the lastest games.

Remember, it's very expensive to game on a PC as you are having to constantly upgrade parts to cater for the lastest games.

3-4 gb for ram is good. i have a vista laptop (Asus, good for gaming) and it has 4gb of ram and i have never seen it go above 70% usage.

The gaming card seems good

What is the core?

It doesn't look very high end to me.

If you can't afford at least a 7750+ BE and a 4670/4830, you should probably just buy a Xbox or something.

I read AMD and immediately think "Oh god.." the current AMD processors are poor in comparison to Intels models, a lot of Intels older models are faster today then newer AMD ones. I'd have a look at an Intel processor.

Change the graphics card. Carbon's suggestion of the ATi 4670 is a much better choice, much greater performance and still only £20 more. Definitely worth the £20. Still, this isn't a high end graphics card. If you're looking for high end, get the HD4870/X2 or nVidia's latest offerings with the GTX260/216/280.

If you don't want to spend all that money on an expensive gaming PC you could always go to Sony or Microsoft and buy the PS3 or Xbox360 respectively. Great consoles both of them and you know the games will run on there without a doubt.

Give us a budget and the type of games you want to play and we might be able to get you a decent parts list!

http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Gamer_Infinity_1000/ 4 gigs of ram e8500 4850 and p45 its about 775$ which is more than you would pay if you were custom building it, but this has a warranty and all that. hope that helps

Really, relying on Cyberpower for a warranty is like relying on the guy selling you stereo speakers out of the back of the truck for future technical support. If something breaks (and it most likely will, because they use shoddy parts), don't expect much.
