| hey all, I'm fairly new and not very uptodate with all the jargon. But I'll try my best to describe whats going on with it. The other day I turned the laptop of as normal, nothing to suspect was wrong with it. Then the day after when I went to turn it on a black screen came on with a list of choices such as safe mode safe mode with network setting, start windows as normal etc. So I thought that is odd having never seen this before. So I highlight the 'start windows as normal' and press enter. It all looked fine like it was loading up until a blue screen appeared with writing, which I couldn't fully see as the computer reset is self. This time I clicked safe mode and it did the same thing, brieftly show this blue screen with writing and reset. After some tingering around pressing F10 I manged to set the computer not to reset on system failure and on the blue screen it mentions the new hardware or softeware is installed wrong and windows will not let me on and stop me from getting on to stop document from being distroyed. But the blue screen also surggests use safe mode or presume windows, but as you can see it just doesn't come on at all!! Please if anyone could help as theres work on there and I'm not that technichal lol thanks all ps hope I made sense, might post pics on if people find it hard to follow |

| I think you did a good job of getting the info across.

The blue screen you refer to is known as the BSOD blue screen of death!lol This usually occurs when hardware is malfunctioning or as it says software. Have you recently installed or had someone else install for you any new hardware or software? If you have then you can boot in safe mode (tap F8 while the computer is booting up right at the start). Then you should uninstall any software you have recently installed that could be causing this. Same for hardware. If you havent recently installed anything its possible that some hardware has failed. If possible take down the blue screen error code and post it here and someone should be able to help decipher it. My System: Krlll

| theres two things on if it helps one says UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME and the other says ***STOP: 0x000000ED (0x84BCA900, 0xc000009C, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) but also when I click safe mode a long list of lines come down saying multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\SYSTEM 32\Drivers\DRIVERS\Mup.sys NB the there are other words than mup but it moves to fast) and then after that it just goes onto blue screen, so theres no escape lol hope it helps |
