Hey guys! I built a computer myself a year or two back, and I got a bunch of help from these forums! (You guys are always so friendly and informative, by the way
)I'm looking to upgrade a few things. Namely my video card and processor. Here's what I'm running: Motherboard: An Asus P5K. CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz Ram: CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 Mostly I'm using this computer for gaming. I play a lot of World of Warcraft, and I've pretty much got that running beyond full specs, but I've been playing a lot of Fallout 3, Borderlands, Oblivion, etc, and I've noticed a bit of a frame rate issue. A couple of games have some minor graphical issues as well when I change particular settings. But I know I've fallen quite a bit behind on my system upgrades. So that said, I basically just want to upgrade a bit, and you guys always have great suggestions. I'd love to see what you guys think I should go for next. Thank you so much, you're all always so helpful. ~Stephen |

If your problem is in gaming upgrading neither of those will help you. What is your video card?

Wow, I feel really stupid... My graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS. I totally meant to post that. I was pretty tired last night when I did my original post, I apologize. It's a PCI xPress slot.

That's definitely your problem - that card was pretty mediocre as a midrange card even then, which is why a lot of people bit the bullet and bought the 8800GTS 320 (for like $200 more :( ). Pop in a new video card and the difference should be pretty crazy.
