Default Help with monitor - No signal message

Hi,
I hope I am posting this thread in the right place.

I turn my computer on and the monitor come on with this wording " 89K/59HZ Frequency Is out of range".

Can someone please tell me what this means and how can I correct It If possible.

Many thanks for your time and help

That message means the monitor is not getting a signal from the base unit.

The reasons for this range from a blown power supply to a blown motherboard or graphics card.

The most common and cheapest reason is the power supply, power cuts and surges cause them to blow.

Replace your Power supply, around £15 and see if that works.

Hi,
Thankyou for your suggestion.
I was hoping It was not going to cost me anything. But like computers every thing cost if it goes wrong.

Many thanks for your time and advice

I will have to disagree with you on this one Dave, from the display it looks like the output from the graphics card as it says the frequency is out of range. Can you boot into safemode?

EDIT: Actually, are you meaning you can't even see the BIOS? if this is the case, I agree with Dave.

Yea, it's the black screen with white writing on when you start the computer up, something like this:

If you can see that, try booting into safe mode, press F8 for boot menu and select boot into safe mode. Let us know if you an see anything then.

oh, my that's annoying, I had almost finished this post, when the computer restarted with no warning because I was updating my graphics drivers, how ironic is that? now I have to try and remember what I was saying...

OK, 1 more thing I have thought of that you can try, try doing the same as you would to boot into Safe Mode, but instead of choosing Safe Mode, choose the setting that is something along the lines of "last known good configuration" Lets see if that works, if it does, that's great, if it doesn't however, I'll try and think of something else.
