| Fans running? Done anything to the internals recently? New build?

| Take everything out of the case, reseat the motherboard, add just the CPU and memory and graphics card, put the flyleads back on and power to the motherboard, leave the disks and DVD disconnected, put just the keyboard and monitor on. If there's onboard graphics leave the graphics card off and use that instead. You did put all the power leads to the motherboard that it needs? The motherboard manual's pictures might be worth comparing.

While you're there, check how to reset the CMOS and do it (it's probably a jumper change, power on, power off, count, jumper change). If you don't get into the BIOS when you power on now then you have a broken piece of kit among those bits. Maybe you'll get a beep code telling you what. My System: Tim

| Could be a host of things! Dodgy monitor, faulty graphics card, even incompatible RAM can cause this.

| I would agree with other post. Strip every connection that does not need to be there including any connections to onboard USB headers etc make sure your graphics card is seated correctly and try again. It is also worth noting that if the bios on your motherboard does not currently support the processor you have fitted you would get this very effect: Everything running but no display. In that case you would need a processor the board currently supports in order to be able to update the bios to one which supports your chosen processor. Check the motherboard manufacturers web site to see what bios version you need to support the processor you are attempting to use. |
